Description

In this lecture, Dr. Gelfman discusses the new hypertension guideline for lowering blood pressure.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand that lifestyle modifications are key.
  • Understand how to use AOBP in their offices to measure blood pressure.
  • Understand that there always will be a need to measure blood pressure especially in patients who are over the age of 75 and who are frail.
  • Understand that the blood pressure treatment goal depends on overall cardiovascular risk, medication side effects, and patient adherence to therapy.

The Indiana Osteopathic Association is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of 0.75 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

It is the policy of the IOA that any physician dissatisfied with the CME program will be issued a refund upon request, and no CME credits will be reported to the AOA.  Complaints on Evaluation Forms also are taken into consideration when planning future CME programs and may lead to changes in the format or content.
